As an elementary school teacher, mother of three, and PTO Board Member, Tara understands that it is essential to return students to full-time, in-class instruction. Kids need to be back in school - no more stalling and excuses.

Tara will work to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive in school, championing remedial measures to bridge the gap for students in need of additional support. Empowering families and students to make the right choices for them, Tara will bring a teacher’s perspective to Richmond.

Tara will​ ​work to re-open and rebuild Virginia’s economy with pro-growth policies that support the small businesses and working families hurt most by lockdowns.

While major corporations have in many ways been insulated from the economic damage of COVID-19, local businesses have particularly struggled in the past year due to devastating state government restrictions. Tara will help keep small businesses open and support the next generation of Virginia entrepreneurs, working to keep taxes low and reduce burdensome regulations.

Tara personally understands the importance of affordable, life-saving care. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020, Tara was forced to navigate the healthcare bureaucracy. She knows that every Virginian deserves access to quality healthcare, with more options, not less, and will work to find new ways to lower costs.

Virginia ranks among the worst in the nation for COVID-19 vaccine rollout. Tara will hold Democratic leadership accountable and help create a more efficient distribution system to get the vaccine to those who need it.

A member of the Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee with the Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, Tara connects community members and local officials to help solve Northern Virginia’s transportation challenges.

In Richmond, Tara will continue working to find innovative, effective and affordable solutions to reduce traffic and keep roads safe for Virginia drivers.

It’s time to restore public safety - Virginia families deserve to be safe from violence and unrest in the streets. 

Tara is a strong supporter of law enforcement and won’t let politicians or bureaucrats tie their hands. Tara will work to ensure they have the resources they need to keep our families safe and fight back against the dangerous Defund the Police movement.
